On August 6, Bangladesh Youth Empowerment Society (BYES) recruited volunteers through an interview session at the EMK Center for its project “Empowering Youth Leaders through Cultivating Culture of Peace to Strengthen Democratic Practice,” supported by the U.S. State Department. From more than 450 applicants, 40 students were called for the interview session, conducted by BYES management and a team from the U.S. State alumni.

BYES had a bimonthly meeting on 8th July, 2012; the governing body members were present at the meeting. The members discussed about the ongoing AEIF 2012 Project: “Empowering Youth Leaders through Cultivating Culture of Peace to Strengthen Democratic Practice”, project implementation plan & strategy, BYES upcoming events like international youth day celebration and BYES yearly action plan.
